Letter to the U.S. Secretary of War. Butler gives advice concerning the removal of the Seminole Indians from the Cherokee Nation, and discusses the rebuilding of Fort Gibson and the actions and influence of U.S. Indian agents, stating his view that most Indian wars are "produced or aided by stupid or vicious agents."
